13 junior golfers from Colorado qualify at GVR for 2020 Optimist International

Thirteen Coloradans were among the 21 players who qualified over the weekend for the 2020 Optimist International Junior Golf Championships, which will be held in July at Trump National Doral Resort in Miami.
The 36-hole Optimist Junior Golf Tour event that produced the qualifiers was held at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in northeast Denver.
The tournament was open to junior golfers from around the country, and eight players from outside of Colorado qualified for the 2020 Optimist.
Qualifying medalists at GVR were Tyler Tyson of Arvada (boys 16-18), Carson Bertagnole of Casper, Wyo. (boys 11-13), Rylee Salome of Los Lunas, N.M. (girls 11-13), Marley Moncada of Tucson, Ariz. (girls 14-18) and Camden Braidech of Scottsdale, Ariz. (boys 14-15).

In June, additional Optimist qualifying tournaments — in this case for the Colorado-Wyoming District — will be held in Colorado.
The dates for the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship in Miami are July 11-16 (boys 10-11, boys 12-13 and girls 10-12); July 16-21 (boys 14-15 and girls 13-14); and July 21-26 (boys 16-18 and girls 15-18).
