A dozen more players, including AJ Morris of Aspen and brothers and former Durango residents Tom and Bob Kalinowski, punched their tickets to this month’s CoBank Colorado Open as the third of five qualifying tournaments was held, with Eagle Ranch Golf Course in Eagle hosting Tuesday’s event.
Morris — who played PGA Tour Canada in 2017, making three cuts — shot a 5-under-par 67 on Tuesday, good for a share of second place, two strokes behind medalist Noah Hofman of McCook, Neb., who chalked up nine birdies en route to his 65.
Morris carded seven birdies and two bogeys.
Meanwhile, Tom Kalinowski posted six birdies and three bogeys in shooting a 69. Bob Kalinowski, a two-time Big Eight Conference individual champion when he played at the University of Colorado, fired a 70 and prevailed in a five-man playoff for the final qualifying position that lasted five holes.
