Fort Collins’ Olivia Steen wins Denver Women’s City Am by 1 stroke

In a competition in which the top four players all finished within a couple of strokes of one another, Olivia Steen of Fort Collins claimed the title in the Denver Women’s City Amateur at Overland Park Golf Course.
The golfer from Fossil Ridge High School shot a 7-over-par 79 on Sunday to post a 12-over 156 total for two days, good for a one-stroke victory. She finished day 2 with two birdies, five bogeys and two double bogeys.
Tying for second were former Colorado Women’s Open champion Erin Houtsma of Denver and Sofia Choi of Littleton. Houstma carded a 78 on Sunday and Choi a 79. Also in the mix was Aubri Braecklein of Northglenn, the 2020 Junior Golf Alliance of Colorado Girls Player of the Year, who finished two back of Steen after an 80 on Sunday.
