Janene Guzowski

Janene Guzowski was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. After graduating from Southern Methodist University in 1983 she moved to Colorado and after 33 years call Denver her home. She and her husband Alan have been members of Lakewood CC for 20 years and are also members of Frost Creek CC in Eagle Colorado. Janene fondly remembers many summers when she was a young teenager, traveling from Texas and fishing with her dad in Eagle. Becoming a member at Frost Creek feels like coming full circle from those special summers.

While at Lakewood CC, she became the first female to chair a committee, the Caddie Committee. She has either chaired or been involved with that Committee for the past 13 years. She was also President of the Ladies League for two years. In 2010 she became the first female in the state of Colorado to be on the Board of Directors of the Western Golf Association, the organization which funds the Evans Scholarship. She also serves on the board of the Colorado Golf Hall of Fame.

Kent Moore

Kent Moore has played competitive golf in Colorado since the early 1970’s. Moore holds several state championship titles including the 1973 Colorado Golf Association (CGA) junior match play, the 1986 CGA Stroke Play, the 1989 CG Match Play, the 1995 CGA Mid-Amateur, 2006 Senior CGA Match Play as well as three state mixed titles with his wife Janet. Moore has been medalist in the CGA match play three times. He has played in 9 USGA events and been medalist in local qualifying three times. Moore has been in active in the Colorado business community. He is a former vice-president of Exeter Drilling Northern, and former co-founder and president of Caza Drilling. Moore also spent several years in the mutual fund business as analyst and portfolio manager for Janus Capital and senior analyst/portfolio manager for Marsico Capital. He is a board member of The Providence Network and an elder in his church. Kent is a member at Cherry Hills Country Club and is the former Tournament Chairman of the Colorado Open Championships.

Gary Albrecht

Gary was born and raised in Jackson, Minnesota. He graduated in 1978 from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota where he played golf and threw the javelin. After teaching high school German and coaching football, golf and basketball, Gary enrolled in William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, graduating in 1984. He moved to Denver in 1995. He is a commercial litigator and trial lawyer at The Law Office of Gary F. Albrecht, LLC. Gary is a scratch golfer and regularly competes in CGA senior events.

Lucius Ashby

Lucius has been a resident of Colorado since 1964. He has practiced as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1969. Lucius is currently with Jackson, Ashby, Goldstine, PC.  Lucius has been involved in numerous community boards, events and activities during his professional career including, board member with Denver Kids and Denver Chamber of Commerce. He also participated in Leadership Denver Program. He is currently a member of the Denver Rotary (31), Treasurer for the Denver Rotary Foundation and actively involved in his Church, Colorado Christian Fellowship. Lucius and his wife Victoria have been married for 26 years and have a son, Armand, a daughter, Felecia and three grandchildren from deceased son, Wind Henderson.

Dana Murray

Dana Murray was born and raised in Denver, CO. She is a proud third generation Coloradan. She earned her undergraduate degree from The Colorado College, where she majored in American History and Political Science. She earned her law degree from the University of Denver, College of Law. After Law School, Dana served as a Deputy District Attorney and then as a County Court Judge for the Colorado Judicial Department for 28 years.

It wasn’t until later in her life that Dana came to the game of golf. She became a member of the EWGA as a beginning golfer, and remains a member today. Among the most important reasons that golf appeals to Dana are: The integrity of the game, the life lessons which are illustrated while playing, and the beauty of every golf course.

Now retired from the Bench, Dana chooses to offer her time to the game of golf on the Local and National level. In addition to serving on the CGA Board of Governors and acting as an On Course Official for Colorado Tournaments, Dana is also on the National Tournament Committee for the EWGA.

Juliet Miner

Juliet Miner is a criminal defense attorney in Castle Rock. She lives with her husband Butch and two cats Percy and Oscar. Juliet graduated from the University of Iowa with degrees in Japanese, Library Science, and Law. Juliet served in the United States Army Reserve during law school. She moved to Colorado in 1983. Juliet is an avid golfer and regularly logs 100 plus rounds per year. She learned golf at age 14 from her father in Nevada, Iowa at Indian Creek Country Club, a local nine-hole course. In Colorado, she belonged to Perry Park Country Club, where she was the Club president 1992-1994. She also participated in the Ladies Group and was A team captain. She has belonged to Inverness, Patty Jewett, Wellshire, and is now a member at Bear Dance. She also belongs to the CSSWGA. The highlight of her golfing career was caddying for her pro Stephanie Martin on the Ladies European Tour (LET) in Italy and Germany. Her second favorite memory is waiting seven hours at the starter’s shack in St. Andrews before she finally got out on the Old Course. Juliet believes that golf is a great way to network for business and life and has enjoyed all the opportunities it brings for friendship and camaraderie.

Ed Timmins

Ed graduated with honors from Harvard University in 1977, where he was a Harvard National Scholar, a member of the Harvard Crew team, the Harvard Varsity Club, the Harvard Crimson, and Phillips Brooks House. Ed then went onto the University of Michigan where he received his J.D. and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1980. While at Michigan he served as senior editor of the Michigan Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Ed was also President of the International Law Society and the editor of the Yearbook of International Legal Studies. Ed began his career as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard D. Cudahy of the United States Court of Appeals, for the Seventh Circuit, and then practiced as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, and as an Assistant United States Attorney and Special Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Colorado. During Ed’s tenure he received the U.S. Department of Justice Special Achievement Award, the United States Attorney General Commendation, and the United States Attorney Distinguished Service Award. Ed is the founder and attorney with the Denver, Colorado law firm of Timmins LLC. Ed’s home course is Denver Country Club

Lyn Bullen

Lyn Bullen was raised in Western Colorado on a ranch in the flat tops above Meeker. She taught skiing in the 80’s in Aspen and Crested Butte, then moved to Grand Junction and decided that golf was her new sport. She and her parents opened a golf store and soon after was playing in as many ladies clubs as possible.

Lyn and her husband Bubba are members at Bookcliff Counrty Club where she is currently serving her last year on the board. Lyn is also a past LGA president at Tiara Rado and Bookcliff Country Club. She joined the CWGA in 2013 and continues to be the Western Slope at Large representative.

Elizabeth Carter

Elizabeth Carter is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado with 30 years of experience in municipal engineering specializing in water. She has lived in California and New Jersey and states in between, settling in Colorado in 1990. She graduated from Texas A&M University, College Station with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. She worked in consulting engineering for 21 years prior to moving to the public sector with the City of Aurora in 2007. In November of 2014, Elizabeth was promoted to Principal Engineer with Aurora Water.

Elizabeth served on the board of directors of the Rocky Mountain Section of the American Water Works Association from September 2005 through September 2013 and has held several board positions including Chair and Treasurer. Currently, she serves as Water Treatment Committee Chair providing high quality training opportunities for water operators in Colorado. She also serves as the Student Chapter Coordinator for seven universities in Wyoming, New Mexico, and Colorado. Outside of work and volunteering, she is passionate about the Colorado outdoors, especially hiking and improving her golf game. She lives in Highlands Ranch with her two teenage children, Aubrey and Derek.

Jason Doyle

Jason was born in Canton, OH and moved to Boca Raton, FL when he was 11. He didn’t start playing golf until he was 15, but earned a spot on the Florida State University golf team his freshman year and competed on the team for four years from 1990-1994. He graduated with a Finance degree and entered the golf business working as an Assistant Golf Professional at various clubs including Southern Hills CC (Tulsa, OK), Adios Golf Club (Florida), and Hallbrook CC (Kansas City) and earned his PGA Class “A” Membership in 1998. After getting married in 2001, he left the golf industry and entered the business world also while starting the MBA program at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa. Jason, his wife Andie, and their two boys moved to Colorado Springs in the spring of 2011 and is now the President for UMB Bank in Colorado Springs. He currently serves on the boards for the First Tee of Colorado Springs; Peak Vista Community Health Systems; and Children’s Literacy Center. He also is a panelist with Golf Digest Magazine.

Lilly Dye Harmon

Lilly is a Colorado native who grew up learning the game at Glenmoor Country Club. She is a graduate of Kent Denver School and has a BS in Psychology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Lilly is currently a social media consultant for several golf and construction companies and previously was a teacher. She has been a member of Ballyneal Golf Club since 2012. Lilly lives in Castle Rock with her husband Ross and children Brooks and Margaret.

Lilly comes from a family of golf course architects as the daughter of Perry Dye and granddaughter of the late Pete and Alice Dye. Growing up in a family of designers took Lilly from a young age to course construction sites and professional tournaments around the world. Her grandfather stressed that the 3 most important things on a golf course are “drainage, drainage, drainage” and her grandmother led the charge for proper forward tees so all could enjoy the game. Those lessons and travels instilled Lilly with her passion today to maintain and grow the game.

Mike Goodart

Mike was born and raised in New Mexico. He played prolifically as a youth and ultimately won the oldest junior golf championships in the country—The Western Junior in 1967. After being recruited by the Air Force Academy to play golf, Mike decided instead to make the University of Mexico his college of choice where he played four years.

Mike built successful automobile dealerships in the Alamosa, Cortez, four-corners area (including dealerships in New Mexico). Town & Country Auto is now run by his son-in-law, But Mike remains invested in the success of the dealership. Since retiring from the day-to-day activities of the dealership, Mike and his wife moved to Denver and play their golf at Cherry Hills Country Club.

Mike was invited by Rob Foss to play in the 2019 Solich Invitational and made an unsolicited donation to the program following a very enjoyable round with Rob Foss, Ed Mate and Joe McCleary.

Tom Gysin

Tom grew up in Evergreen, Colorado and has lived in Colorado since he was two years old. He graduated from Evergreen High School and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. After College, Tom entered the business world when he started working at Chicago Title of Colorado. 19 years later he is still in the industry and now owns his own Agency in Lakewood, called Homestead Title. Tom has been married to his wife, Kim for 15 years and has two great kids, Adam -13 and Shannon age 10. Adam plays lots of sports, including golf, and Shannon is an avid gymnast, who competes regularly. Golf is Tom’s passion but he also loves to ski and travel. He currently plays golf at Lakewood Country Club where he has been a member since 1998.

Khadija Katherine Haynes

Khadija Katherine Haynes is a native of Denver and a fourth generation Coloradoan. She has been an ‘activator’ in the Denver community for over 40 years, focusing on education; arts and culture; agriculture; politics and policy; and community empowerment. Ms. Haynes is the CEO of K-Solutions, a political and governmental consulting and lobbying firm based in Denver. Her services are sought after by a diverse clientele, ranging from multi-national corporations to community-based organizations. She has carved a niche as an astute and sought after political advisor and governmental manager.

Prior to her work at K-Solutions, Ms. Haynes served as Chief of Staff and Policy Director for the Colorado Senate Majority. She also served in a Colorado gubernatorial administration as the Director of Operations. Between those significant political appointments, she co-founded and led a nonprofit organization that teaches agricultural and environmental education to Denver Metro youth and their families. Ms. Haynes’ has also served as a gubernatorial appointee on the Board of Directors of the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District; a Mayoral appointee to the Denver Parks and Recreation Advisory Board; President of Colorado Black Women for Political Action; and Co-Chair of the Citizens Advisory Board for the Stapleton Development Corporation. Other previous leadership includes Chair of the Colorado State University Cooperative Extension Advisory Council; Chair of the Board of Directors of The Odyssey School; and Adjunct Professor of Theatre at Colorado Christian College. Ms. Haynes currently brings her rich experience and consulting expertise to her roles as a Trustee of the National Western Stock Show; co-lead of the Montbello FreshLo food and social justice project; board member of the Montbello Organizing Committee; Vice-Chair of FaithBridge; and Co-Founder of Colorado Black Arts Movement. Khadija enjoys playing golf, photographing nature, traveling, and horseback riding.

Jim Hollingsworth

Jim was born in LaGrande, Oregon but raised in Grand Junction. Although exposed to golf at an early age, he participated in all sports, with a special focus on baseball. He was a member of the NJCAA baseball world series committee from 1982-2000. The tournament has been held in Grand Junction since 1952. Jim has played competitive golf for our 30 years, and has won multiple titles including the Club Championship at Bookcliff Country Club and Dalton Ranch Golf Club in Durango. His professional background is in sales and marketing. He was sales manager for American Bag Corp in Grand Junction prior to moving with his family to Durango in 2000. He and his wife Cathy (Durango native) moved to Durango to assist her brother in the operations of the family business, Colorado Land Title (CLT). CLT has offices in Durango, Cortez, Pagosa Springs and Montrose. As a University of Colorado alumnus, Jim is a huge C.U. Buff fan. Both of his children, Brian (’87) and Kimbery (’90) attended C.U.

Ty Holt

Ty Holt has distinguished himself among his peers as a highly effective and respected trial attorney and construction law counselor. Mr. Holt is also widely recognized for his service as a mediator and an arbitrator and is highly sought after to present his engaging and educational continuing legal education programs in the areas of his specialty.

The Holt Group LLC through its representation of owners, design professionals, general contractors, construction managers and developers, provides litigation support, business deal structuring, contract drafting and negotiation for various commercial, industrial and multi-family facilities in Colorado. All of the photographs on our website reflect projects in which The Holt Group had significant involvement over the years.

Jeff Howard

Jeff Howard currently serves as Managing Partner of the Gomez Howard Group, an integrated marketing and communications firm he runs with his wife Gerri. Howard is also an adjunct professor for MSU Denver teaching classes focused on sport governance and sport industry operations. In addition, Howard continues to speak on subjects relating to the Olympic Ideals and Values, and was selected as an advisor for a youth reporter program during the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada. Howard was also selected as a presenter for an international symposium on “Olympic Values in the 21st Century” prior to the 2012 London Olympic Games.

As a full-time sports administrator, Howard served six years at the University of Denver and more than two as Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations. Prior to his roles at the University of Denver, Howard served on the Communications Division leadership team and directed the Education and Outreach, Community Relations and Career Services departments at the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). Howard also previously served as Managing Director for Public and Media Relations at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), media relations assistant for the Denver Broncos and sports producer for KWGN-TV in Denver.

Howard received his bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver and his master’s degree from University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (Lyon, France) in sports management.

Arnold Hoy

Arnold was born in Pontiac, Michigan and relocated with his family to Colorado in 1978. He attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he earned a degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting and graduated with honors in 1992. After graduation Arnold went to work for a public accounting firm, KPMG LLP, and is now a retired partner of the firm. He is a certified public accountant in Colorado and a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Arnold has been playing golf since he was 4 years old and has started his 7 year old daughter playing golf. He has played in CGA events for over ten years. Arnold plays golf mainly at public courses, primarily CommonGround. Arnold, his wife Kimberly and daughter Mandy reside in Castle Rock.

Phyllis Jensen

Phyllis was born in Boston, Massachusetts and is the oldest of six children. She came to Colorado in 1967 to attend the University of Denver where she graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education. After teaching for a few years, she returned to D.U. and in 1975 earned a Master’s Degree in Physical Education. Still not finished with her formal education, Phyllis attended the University of Northern Colorado and in 1985 earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education. She continued teaching in the Denver Public Schools for 32 years and in 2002 retired from full time teaching. Still needing a “kid fix”, she worked part time at another elementary school in Denver as a technology resource person and finally retired in 2011.

The love of golf began when Phyllis was ten years old and her Dad bought her first set of golf clubs and lessons. Phyllis has had a passion for the game ever since! In 2010, she had major back surgery which has limited her golf game to just chipping and putting. In order to fuel her passion for golf, Phyllis has become more active in committee work. She had the privilege of serving three years on the Board of Trustees for the Colorado State Senior WGA and is currently serving on the CWGA Board of Directors as the Site Location Chair. Phyllis is looking forward to working with this talented group of women to ensure positive golf experiences for all our members.

Phyllis married her husband, Stan, in 1994. Stan is an avid golfer and hunter. They have had the opportunity to take many golf trips together and see some truly beautiful scenery. When she is not involved in golf related activities, Phyllis enjoys reading, playing bridge and being outdoors.

Lance Johnson

Lance is a Certified Golf Course Superintendent. He has worked for the City of Westminster for the past 21 years and is currently the Recreation Facilities Superintendent, overseeing two golf courses, 3 recreation facilities and a regional park. He grew up in Fairfield, Iowa. Lance attended Arizona State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Prior to working in golf course maintenance, Lance umpired professional baseball in the minor leagues for three years. He and his wife of 29 years Lynn, have two sons, Greg and Kyle and a daughter Brett. Lance is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), Rocky Mountain Golf Course Superintendents Association (RMGCSA) and the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA). Lance is past a President of the Rocky Mountain Golf Course Superintendents Association and also served as President of the RMGCSA non-profit organization, The Golf Foundation of Colorado, Inc. from 2010-2103. Lance and his family live in Lakewood, Colorado.

Judy Maillis

Judy grew up in Glenview, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. After spending three years in Casper, Wyoming, she moved to Colorado in 1980. Judy graduated from the University of Illinois with degrees in Speech & Theater, English, and Secondary Education. She completed her MA in Speech & Theater at Northeastern Illinois University. Judy spent most of her years as an educator at Chatfield High School, where she was the theater director for 15 years and finished up her career as Chair of the English Department. After a teaching for 37 years in three different states, Judy retired in 2007.

Judy is an avid golfer and plays in the Broken Tee Saturday Ladies Club, the Foothills Ladies Golf Club, and the Ladies Tournament Golf Association (LTGA). As a ladies club member, she has worn many hats over the years. She served as treasurer and president at The Links at Highlands Ranch, B-Team captain at Broken Tee, as well as tee time and tournament chair at Foothills. She also competes in many CWGA events along with volunteering on the CWGA Tournament Committee

In addition to her passion for golf, Judy loves to ski, practice yoga, play her fiddle, attend the theater, and read. To Judy, golf offers the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature, the challenge of competition, and the pleasures of meeting people and creating relationships.

Kathy Malpass

Kathy has played competitive golf for most of her life. She first served as Vice President of her ladies club at age 17 at Soaring Eagles Golf Club in New York. She was honored as Most Valuable Player her junior year and served as captain her senior year on the women’s golf team at Wake Forest University. She was an assistant coach of the women’s golf program at Indiana University in 1979, while in graduate school. Kathy started the women’s golf program at North Carolina State University in 1980, and the Mason-Dixon Women’s Golf Association.

Since moving to Colorado, Kathy has served as league coordinator of the Greater Denver Golf A-Team Association and the A-Team Challenge League of Denver. Kathy has served as a member of the Advisory Board of Directors, Greens Committee, president of the Ladies Club, tournament director and A-Team captain at Hiwan Golf Club. She was the tournament director for the 2007 AJGA Rolex Girl’s Junior Championship, held at Hiwan Golf Club. Kathy is currently a member of the USGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Committee. Kathy was the CWGA Senior Women’s Player of the Year in 2006 and 2008, and is a member of the Elmira Sports Hall of Fame in New York. She taught Sport Management at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

The LRA was formed by Denver and Aurora To redevelop the former Lowry Air Force Base that closed in 1994. Tom was responsible for Real estate sales, marketing, business and financial planning, site improvements and overall Project administration. Lowry won many local, state, and national awards, replaced more Than 7,000 lost jobs, and was a $7 billion positive economic benefit for the cities.

Chris McClain 

Chris McClain is a 3rd generation native of Colorado. With a strong Colorado family background, he has been a leader in the Colorado business community since attending College at University of Colorado at Denver in the early 90’s. He attended Cherry Creek High School where he was a letterman in lacrosse and golf, playing next to Colorado greats, Scott Peterson and Jill Mcgill. McClain ran a small business in Colorado before joining Bank of America 10 years ago. He currently helps lead the Small Business and Preferred Lending segment as Senior Vice President covering the West Division. Chris has been very active in local charities such as the United Way, The Foote Foundation, The Butterfly Fund and Debra. His spare time is very happily taken up by his 14 year old daughter Natasha who is an up and coming Junior Golf Star in her own right. McClain resides in Castle Pines with his best friend, local Colorado business owner, and wife Larina McClain.

Sara Silva Montgomery

Sara began playing golf in High School on the boys’ team in Fort Morgan.  She played D1 golf at DU and was the Team Captain.  She was a 3 time Student Athlete of the Year and 2 time  NCAA Academic Athlete of the Year.  She wrote her 40-page honor thesis on golf and the game’s interplay with business.

Sara presently works for Plante Moran as a Private Wealth Advisor with an emphasis on philanthropic giving. During her interview, Sara shared creative ways to structure donor giving, and a strong understanding of varied investment strategies.

Sara is married and has two children.  She candidly admits that while her husband plays regularly with the Commonground Men’s Club, because of family commitments, she finds it challenging to find the time to play golf herself.

Robert Polk

Robert was born in Memphis, TN and raised in Louisiana. While attending the University of Mississippi, Robert earned a golf scholarship, played on the Rebel’s golf team, and, most importantly, met his wife, Kim. Robert moved to Colorado in 1980 where he took a hiatus from the tee and helped raise three now-adult sons. After turning 50 in 2005, Robert began to play competitive golf once again and his numerous accolades include qualifying for and playing in the 2007 U.S. Senior Open at Whistling Straits; being named the 2007 and 2008 Colorado Player of the Year; playing on the 2006, 2007, and 2008 Colorado Cup Team; representing Colorado in the 2005, 2006, and 2007 Southwest Team Challenge Tournament; winning numerous Club Championships and tournaments, including the Colorado Golf Club’s first Club Championship; as well as being the first person to win both the Colorado Mid-Am Tournament and Senior Stroke Play Tournament in the same year (2007). Robert and his wife currently reside in Parker. Robert is CEO and co-owner of Polk Majestic Travel Group, the largest independent travel management company in Colorado and home to over 130 travel professionals.

Suzie Roh

Suzie serves as Executive Vice President of Wind River Trust Company And Drumore LLC Family Office. She is the former Colorado Market Leader for U.S. Bank Private Wealth Management.  In that role, Susie was responsible for the delivery of the firm’s wealth management service.  Susie has over 14 years experience in the areas of estate planning, wealth management, fiduciary law, trust and estate administration, and banking.

Susie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Planning and Policy Management from the University of Oregon. She was a two-time Academic All American and Team Captair of the Women’s golf team.  She competed professionally on the Player’s West and Futures Golf Tours before she received her Juris Doctor and LL.M in Taxation from the University of Denver College of Law.

Susie is currently a Colorado Civic DNA Fellow working with the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation to address the distinctive challenges of civic leadership and help develop the skills required to address Colorado’s most pressing challenges. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Hunger Free Colorado.

Michael W. Schultz

Mike has been associated with the automotive industry for 30 plus years, since graduating from the University of Colorado in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. Additionally, he is a proud Eisenhower-Evans Scholar Alumnus and an active supporter and fundraiser for the program. For 18 years after college graduation, Mike was a factory representative for Toyota and Lexus, acting in many management capacities nationwide. For over 14 years, he has been the Operations Manager with Stevinson Automotive Inc, which operates seven automobile dealerships in the greater Denver Metro area. Through his affiliation with Stevinson, he has partnered with the Colorado Junior Golf Association for seven years, providing a themed logo van for their use at CJGA events during the tournament season. He is a team sponsor for the Children’s Hospital Foundation, Courage Classic and a member of numerous non-profit organizations and charities, while also being the Tournament Committee Chairman for the CJGA Mike is a founding member of Deer Creek Golf Club at Meadow Ranch.

Laurie Steenrod

Laurie was born and raised in northern Illinois, the youngest of 4. She began golf at an early age, participating in junior golf camps and playing with her parents. Laurie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education at the University of New Mexico in 1978, where she played on the golf team her first 3 years. While teaching and coaching in Aurora Public Schools, Laurie picked up a Masters of Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Northern Colorado. Laurie retired in 2011 and continues to have her hand in education coaching high school girls golf and volunteering at her former school.

Laurie plays golf out of Saddle Rock Golf Club in Aurora where she is on the board and enjoys weekly ladies days and playing A team matches city wide in the Greater Denver Metro league. She is a long time member of the Golf Advisory Committee to Aurora City Council and has participated in many CWGA and some USGA events.

When Laurie is not on the golf course with her friends, she likes to be on her bike, swim, or read.

Chris Thayer

Chris played four years of Division 1 College Golf at Northwestern University and played on the team alongside Luke Donald.  He graduated in 2002 with a BA degree in Economics.  Chris’ first job out of college was working as VP, Finance Manager for Bank of America.  Chris moved to Colorado in 2012 where he has continued his work in corporate finance.  Chris has worked for W.J. Bradley Mortgage, Vail Resorts and is now Director of FP&A for Pursuit Collection, an adventure travel company.

Chris has been an active and outstanding tournament player in state championships for the past several years and won the 2014 and 2017 CGA Mid-Amateur.  He joined the CGA Tournament Committee in 2015 and has been an outstanding contributor to the work of that committee.  In 2018 Chris chaired a subcommittee that evaluated the CGA points list which led to significant update and improvements.  In 2019 Chris was asked to serve on the CGA Fees Subcommittee, a board-appointed subcommittee tasked with analyzing CGA individual, club and facility fees and related issues.

Chris is married and has a young child.

Amy Turner

Amy Turner has spent the majority of her professional career promoting athletes, sports-related organizations and associated partners through her roles in public relations, marketing and sponsorship. She has worked in three industries over the past 25 years: college athletics, television and nonprofit.

Turner’s experience with Colorado’s sports-related organizations includes an 11-year stint with FOX Sports/ROOT Sports Rocky Mountain. In her role as director of marketing and communications, she worked closely with many of the professional sports teams, university athletic departments, high school associations, and annual sporting events in the region. She also helped nonprofits raise funds and awareness, leading to strategic partnerships with organizations such as Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, DPS athletics and Special Olympics Colorado. Her involvement with Special Olympics Colorado progressed from corporate media partner and board member to a staff member within the organization where she served as vice president of marketing and communications for nearly five years.

Prior to her experience working in the television and nonprofit industries, Turner spent more than 13 years in college sports working with media, donors and sponsors. She served as the PR director for the University of Denver athletics department over five years and as assistant commissioner for communications at the Mountain West Conference for two years. Turner’s experience in media relations includes regularly traveling with NCAA I football, men’s basketball, men’s ice hockey and baseball teams throughout the country. She also has worked closely with many women’s sports teams while working at universities in the northeast and Pacific Northwest. She enjoys volunteering for sports-related causes and organizations. Her experience as a board member includes: Metro Denver Sports Commission (2007-2009), Sportswomen of Colorado (2006-present), and Special Olympics Colorado (2009-2011).

A native of Rockport, Mass., Turner graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a BS in Sport Management.

M’liss Ward

M’lis Ward was born in New Orleans, La and raised as the youngest of 3 children in Chicago Ill. She is a Captain for United Airlines flying the Airbus 319 and 320 aircraft. She learned to fly as an Officer in the United States Air Force, stationed in Texas and South Carolina. She was the first female African American to achieve the rank of Captain for any US commercial airline.

M’lis attended the University of Southern California on an Air Force ROTC Scholarship, as well as academic and athletic scholarships. While at USC, Melissa was a member of the two-time National Champion Women’s Basketball Team, an experience she says “is the closest I’ve ever come to flying without an airplane”. She left Southern California in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and a regular commission in the United States Air Force.

M’lis began playing golf in the Air Force but didn’t really get serious about the game until 1995. She is a member of Wellshire Women’s Golf Club where she had held the positions of Handicap, Rules and Monthly Chairs. She is currently the Webmaster for the club’s website, as well as the A Team Captain. She is a two time Wellshire Club Champion, a member of LTGA and plays over 40 rounds of golf per year.

M’lis is also the Varsity Assistant Basketball coach at Dakota Ridge High School in Littleton Colorado. She has held this position for the last three years. In 2014, she took her club to an Elite Eight finish in the State Championships.

Captain Ward resides in Denver, CO with her wife, Denise, her twin 15 year old daughters, Isabel and Analise, and their three cats, PT, Q and Taz.

Brad Wiesley

Brad is a native of Boulder where he attended neighborhood schools and graduated from Fairview High School. He learned to golf in a City of Boulder junior “learn to golf” summer program in the early 1970s. Brad had a 35-year career in law enforcement, primarily with the City of Lafayette (22 years) and University of Colorado-Boulder (10+ years) police departments. Since 1991, he has had a consulting practice working with public safety organizations across the United States on large data management and analysis projects. Brad holds BS in Business Management and Master of Criminal Justice degrees. Brad served three consecutive two-year terms on the Lafayette City Council and was a member of the Boulder County Crime Victim Compensation Board for six years, serving as chair of the board for the final four years. Brad is also active in local Rotary and Optimist service clubs. Brad began volunteering for the CGA in 2011 as a rules official and was appointed to the CGA Rules Committee in the Fall of 2013. Brad officiates tournaments for the CGA and JGAC as well as a variety of NCAA, Colorado Open and PGA-Colorado Section events. Brad enjoys many courses across Colorado and beyond, his home course is Indian Peaks in Lafayette.

Frank Wilkinson

Frank was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended two small colleges before completing his BS in Physics at Miami University in Ohio in 1974. During his college years, he lettered three times in basketball and once in golf. He went on to earn a MS degree in Physics at Miami University in 1975. After working in industry he returned to academia and earned a MS degree in Applied Nuclear Physics from the Colorado School of Mines in 1986. Frank is the President and Owner of Alpha Spectra, Inc. which he founded in 1986. ASI is a leading manufacturer of radiation detectors. He Chaired the 1993 International Radon Conference in Denver and he was President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of AARST for two years. Frank was the building committee Chairman during the planning and construction of Holy Family Catholic School in Grand Junction. Frank was awarded The Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce in 2003. Frank has been playing in CGA events since 1994. He has played on the Western Colorado Cup Team nine times and has played on the Senior Colorado Cup Team four times. Frank and his wife Kathryn live in Grand Junction and have four children, Matthew (1991), James (1993), Sarah (1995) and Rebecca (1997). Other interests include coaching basketball, photography, hiking, and Green Bay Packer football. Frank is a member of the Men’s Club at Lincoln Park Golf Course in Grand Junction.

Greg With

Greg grew up in Minneapolis and Chicago but has lived in Fort Collins since 1978. He attended the University of Wyoming and earned a variety of degrees. Greg is retired after working for the Fort Collins Police Department for 31 years. Currently he serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Northern Colorado Orthopedic Associates. He has a passion for the Rules of Golf and works as a rules official at CGA, USGA, Colorado Open, NCAA, CWGA and AJGA tournaments. Greg is married to Sally Knauer. Their home course is Ptarmigan Country Club in Fort Collins.

Bill Woodward

Bill has spent most of his life in the great state of Colorado. He graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Real Estate. Bill and his wife of 31 years, Laura, have two sons, George and Harry. He has been in the Commercial Real Estate industry since graduating from CSU, and is currently a Principal of Rise Commercial Real Estate Advisors focusing primarily on Commercial Real Estate brokerage. Bill is involved in several business and civic organizations including being past president and current board member of the Metro Denver Executive Club, a past board member of Cherry Hills Country Club, and is a mentor for The Challenge Foundation. He is passionate about golf and feels lucky to call Cherry Hills Country Club his home club.

Mary Woulfe

Mary Woulfe has resided in Aspen, since 1982. She attended The Colorado College, Class of 1981. She followed up at University of Denver with an MBA, Class of 1982. She has coached Aspen HS boys and girls golf starting with the girls in the fall of 2001 crossing over to work with the boys from 2006 to the present. Active as a volunteer at Aspen Jr. Golf, she also has served on the Golf Advisory Board for the City of Aspen. Teaching skiing for the Ski Schools of Aspen full-time for over 30 years, she has served on many committees representing the ski professional staff. She plays at Aspen Golf Club where she currently is handicap chairman and former President. She is actively involved at St. Mary Catholic Church in Aspen as a parishioner of over 30 years and currently serves as the Business Manager.
