Colorado Golf Hall of Fame rescheduling induction dinner and tourney; more Colorado courses close for time being
By Gary Baines – 3/16/2020
(Updated March 17) Concern over the novel coronavirus and its potential spread continues to have a growing impact on Colorado golf.
Among recent developments:
— The Colorado Golf Hall of Fame is planning to reschedule both its induction awards dinner and its annual tournament. The dinner had been set for June 7 and the tournament for May 26 — both at Colorado Golf Club in Parker. New dates for the events have yet to be finalized. Russ Miller, longtime director of golf at The Broadmoor Golf Club in Colorado Springs, is the Hall of Fame’s lone 2020 inductee.
— The number of courses in the state that have closed for the time being continues to grow. The Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills in Westminster shut down on Monday. Flatirons Golf Course in Boulder closed on Sunday. Last week, among courses which stopped operating were Legacy Ridge Golf Course and Walnut Creek Golf Preserve in Westminster, Thorncreek Golf Course in Thornton and Buffalo Run Golf Course in Commerce City.
