The college golf careers of Kyler Dunkle, who grew up in Colorado, and Joshua Matz of the University of Northern Colorado are coming to a close this spring, and both are aiming to go out on a high note.
On Tuesday, the two added another strong finish to their already-impressive college resumes by tying for seventh out of 102 players at the Seattle University Redhawk Invitational at Chambers Bay, host of the 2015 U.S. Open.
It was the fourth top-10 individual finish this season for Dunkle (pictured), the 2018 CGA Amateur champion who has won twice during this college campaign and three times in his University of Utah career.
Matz also earned his fourth individual top-10 of the season.
Matz and Dunkle ended up at 7-under-par 206 on Tuesday, with Matz closing with a 67 and Dunkle a 68. They finished six strokes behind champion Hidetoshi Yoshihara of UCLA
As a team, UNC placed seventh out of the 18-school field.
