11 more Coloradans headed to national Optimist Junior Golf Championship after qualifying at Flatirons GC

Eleven additional Coloradans qualified on Thursday at Flatirons Golf Course in Boulder for the national Optimist Junior Golf Championship that will be held next month in Miami.
The 11 are added to the 27 Colorado junior golfers who advanced last week to the Optimist event.
Friday’s four co-medalists in the boys 16-18 qualifier, all of whom shot 1-over-par 71, were Max Lange of Golden, Traejan Andrews of Greeley, Bielly Phasay of Commerce City and Mathieu Zerwin of Lafayette.
All told, 106 players were in the field at Flatirons.
The Optimist Junior tournaments are held in three phases in July in Miami:
— July 14-19: Boys 10-11 and 12-13 and girls 10-12
— July 19-24: Boys 14-15 and girls 13-14
— July 24-29: Boys 16-18 and girls 15-18
